Ice cream headache

I replaced my Kitchenaid ice cream maker (stand mixer attachment) with a Cuisinart ICE-50BC (“Commercial Quality Ice Cream Maker”) on a deluded whim 2 years ago. I regretted it pretty quickly because it was so much huger and heavier and LOUDER. Oh god, the noise it makes. And the space it takes. However, it cost so much I had to tell myself that it was an improvement because I didn’t have to pre-freeze the bowl and I could make multiple batches in a row. (I have done that exactly once.)

The timer knob broke. It’s been breaking gradually, but the other day it straight up broke. This knob is how the machine turns on. In desperation, I managed I turn it on with pliers.

I emailed Cuisinart customer service, and they’ve replied that I must send the machine in. It weighs 32 pounds. Do you have any idea how much that would cost to mail? I do. $50 absolute minimum. All I need is the goddamn knob, which they do not sell as a replacement part. I am so frustrated and unhappy with this machine!
